And now for something completely different: The Bluesbucker looks like a standard humbucker but sounds like a P90 without the noise. When a pair of these pickups are on together, they achieve the open slightly hollow sound two single coils produce. Splitting the coils produces a sound similar to that of Strat pickup, with very little drop in the output. The coil with adjustable poles is the hot coil. The other coil is along for the ride to cancel hum and look cool. When the hot coil is closest to the bridge the sound is brighter; towards the neck is warmer. With the bridge pickup screw poles towards the neck and the neck pickup in the more traditional direction with the screw poles towards the neck, the combination is like two P90's. Specifications: Output 224mv, DC Resistance 10.23k, Tone Guide: Treble = 6.0; Mid = 5.0; Bass = 4.5. Used by Carl Verheyen, Lyle Workman (Beck).
